Organic little finger carrot seed (un) / Organic little finger carrot seed (un)
Description: A variety with small smooth cylindrical roots, tender and sweet, dark orange. Sow it in early May for an early harvest, in mid-June for a fall harvest and even in early July for tender young carrots at the end of the season. Sow 6mm deep in rows 40cm apart and thin out 5cm apart. Properly mound the soil around the plants to prevent sunburn and green discoloration at the collar. The carrot prefers a fairly rich soil, worked in depth, without rocks and with constant humidity. Maintaining humidity will promote the formation of beautiful roots. It likes full sun or light shade. Avoid fresh manure and green manures which will promote leaf development to the detriment of roots. Root length can vary significantly under different environments and growing conditions. Pick the carrots once the size of the variety is reached and the color is orange. Pick small carrots when young otherwise they will continue to grow. Store in a cool environment.
Use: Ideal for harvesting fresh "baby carrots", but also perfect for canning or pickling.
