Description: Native to Thailand, this variety represents for Hindus, who call it tulsi, a royal herb sacred to the gods. Also in India, it was used as a disinfectant wherever malaria was rife. Its dark purple stems bear toothed leaves whose color is a mixture of olive green and purple. Both the foliage and the purplish-pink flowers exude a penetrating fragrance. This is a very popular basil in Thai cuisine. Height 45 cm.
