The seeds will expand tremendously when wet and take up about four times their original volume. Water poured onto the upper tray with automatic flow from one tray to another, thanks to the action of the siphon in each tray. At the end of the siphoning process, excess water will collect in the base. Empty the base when the upper trays are completely emptied or before the next watering.
