Description: Our daily iron needs are increased during pregnancy and lactation to support the healthy growth and development of the baby in utero, and to support the mother's energy levels and mood while breastfeeding. It's important to get our iron tested during pregnancy and six to eight weeks postpartum so we can adjust our diet and supplements to reach and maintain healthy levels. Because iron deficiency is common during pregnancy 3 and can increase the risk of complications for both mother and baby, Health Canada recommends daily iron supplementation of 16–20 mg during pregnancy. Floravit provides the recommended daily dose of iron with a synergistic blend of B vitamins and nutrient-dense food extracts to improve the absorption, digestion and effects of iron in the body. Floravit is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, is gentle on the digestion, alcohol-free, artificial colors or flavors, yeast-free, dairy-free and gluten-free, and it is vegan. Floravit is formulated to support the health of mother and baby during pregnancy and throughout breastfeeding.
Ingredients: Elemental iron ii (ferrous gluconate) 10mg, vitamin b1 (thiamin hydrochloride) 2.5mg, vitamin b2 (sodium riboflavin 5-phosphate) 4mg, vitamin b6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) 2mg, vitamin b12 (cyanocobalamin ) 7.5 mcg, aqueous extracts of rosehip, chamomile, fennel, spinach; black grape, pear, black currant, cherry, blackberry and carrot juice concentrates; rosehip extract, purified water and ascorbic acid (antioxidant).
Directions: Adults and adolescents 14 years and older: 10ml twice daily before meals. Children from 10 to 14 years old: 10 ml once a day before a meal. Children from 5 to 9 years old: 5 ml once a day before a meal. Children from 2 to 4 years old: 4 ml once a day before a meal.
