Description: Star anise, or Chinese star anise, is the fruit of the Chinese star anise tree, used as a spice in cooking for its aniseed flavor. The fruit is composed of a woody polyfollicle with eight carpels, each containing a shiny seed. Directions: Crush immediately before use. Pour boiling water over 1 teaspoon, strain after 10 minutes. Drink 1 cup daily.
